Dani Rothman – Grocery Dept.

Hidden Springs Creamery
Bohemian Blue cheese

“I have never tasted a blue cheese with so much flavor, and coupled with an apple or pear it’s just divine!”

Pinn-Oak Farms
Lamb Cajun Sausage

“While our sausage selection can be lacking, this one pops! Enough snap to the skin, the right amount of spice to the meat, use instead of meatballs in spaghetti or on a roll with mustard and sauerkraut when the brats are a little played out.”

Jesse Thurber – Front End Dept.

El Rey
Chipotle Sour Cream Tortilla Chips

“They're tasty!”

Willy Street Co-op
Rosemary Chicken

“It's tasty!”

Serenity Voss – Front End Dept.

Eco-Dent
Tooth Powders

“My favorite is ExtraBrite Dazzling Mint Tooth Whitener, but I also enjoy Original Mint Daily Care. It leaves my teeth sparkling and smooth, just like after a real cleaning from a dentist. It’s from Twin Lakes WI.”

Tipi Produce
Carrots

“They are amazing.”

Pasqual's
Salsa

“So flavorful, fresh-tasting and consistently delicious.”

Michelle Schinker – Production Kitchen

Tipi Produce

“They are like candy. Carrot-flavored candy.”

Trempealeau Hotel
Walnut Burgers

“Have you had them? They rule.”

Lindsey Hardy – Front End Dept.

Westby Cooperative Creamery
Sour Cream

“I love it because it's fresh, creamy and rich. It's great for cooking, baking or using as a condiment.”

Cedar Grove
Colby (not Marbled) Cheese

“It's perfect. Not too sharp but with that great zing at the end. It also has a really great texture to it.”

Dan Frost - Administration

Willy Street Co-op
Peanut Butter
Chocolate Chip Cookie (made without gluten)

“I can eat gluten, so that's not it. It is consistently soft, the peanut butter adds nice depth of flavor and, well, it's the best chocolate chip cookie we make!”

Willy Street Co-op
Southern-Fried Tofu

“Just brings back the childhood memories of my Mom's Shake-n-bake chicken, I guess.”

Jack Kear – Communications Dept.

Hawkwind
Clem's Hot Pepper Relish

“Good on everything (almost literally) and because who could not love a vendor that (a) makes mustard and (b) hosts spiritual retreats.”

Bleu Mont
18-month Bandaged Cheddar

“Come on, have you tried this stuff?? The crystals shards are the souls of Cheeseheads gone before us.”

Lynn Olson – Cooperative Services Dept.

Willy Street Co-op
Green Dream Smoothie

“I love it because it's creamy, rich and smooth and doesn't taste like the spirulina I need... I just taste the delicious, tropical fruit frappe.”

Bountiful Bean
Herb Tofu

“I can't say enough good things about this rare find of a fresh and finite resource. Thank you, a thousand times over to R.J. and his family for keeping us stocked with a bountiful supply of beautiful tofu.”

Tamara Urich-Rintz – Front End Dept.

Upton’s Naturals
Seitan (All Varieties)

“Great for vegetarian Chilis, Pizza, Jambalyas, and Tacos.”

Willy Street Co-op
Grab and Go Salads (Chef, Caesar, and Spinach)

“Perfectly portioned and perfectly priced!”

Andrew Greenwood- Produce Dept.

Nessalla

Kombucha (All Kinds, especially Mango)

“It reminds me of "Honeymuck," a drink my mom used to make me when I was little. And, purportedly, it is a cure-all.”

Amy Draper – Manager on Duty

North Bay Trading Company
32-Bean Soup Mix

“So easy, yummy and did I mention easy and yummy? Also, it has really HUGE beans in it to keep the kids interested.”

Kickapoo Gold
Maple Syrup, Grade B

“Once you've had it, you can't go back to anything else.  It's organic too!”

Evan Coleman - Grocery

Bountiful Bean
Pizza

“Why? Garlic Almond Sauce!”

Bandung
Tempeh

“It’s the real deal as far as tempeh goes.”

Marcus Dushack – Production Kitchen/Flow-of-Goods Dept.

Willy Street Co-op
Sheba Bars

“Tastes great, I like the texture. Rich but not too sweet, and it's vegan!”

Willy Street Co-op
Macaroni Salad

“Mostly because of the apple cider vinegar; it's also a rather non-traditional recipe.”

Josh Perkins – Production Kitchen

Organic Valley
Butter

“No explanation is necessary for the love of butter...is it?”

Julia Eggers – Production Kitchen

Willy Street Co-op
Bumble Baby Bars

“They're crunchy, chewy and lightly sweet. The nuts and honey give me a natural energy boost without weighing me down, and they can be eaten on the go!”

Willy Street Co-op
Bok Choy Chicken Salad

“It's a deceptively simple salad with a great blend of flavors and textures - excellent for a light lunch or a midday snack.”

Willy Street Co-op
Apple Raspberry Juice

“It's all-natural, made in-house and full of fruity goodness!”

Willy Street Co-op
Florentine Burgers

“They're the best meatless burger I've ever eaten! The spinach and toasted walnuts give them a smoky flavor, and they're hearty without being heavy.”

Heidi Stanton- Front End Dept.

Bulk Organic
Spinach

“It's always full of flavor but never bitter!”

Stoddard’s
Sugar-Cured Bacon

“Deeeelicious!!!”

Jocie Luglio – Wellness Dept.

Hidden Springs Creamery
Driftless Spreadable Sheep's Milk Cheese (plain or basil and olive oil are my favorites, but they have amazing flavors to suit all tastes)

“Better than cream cheese and lighter than most chevre (goat cheese)...a slightly tangy complex flavor with a rich creaminess. A little goes long way on toast, bagels, or crackers (especially Potter's crackers!) although I'm always tempted to sneak a whole spoonful.  This cheese feels comfortable on weekday breakfast toast or on a fancy cheese plate.”

Potter's Crackers
Crackers

“They use simple ingredients and have great flavors. I love Washington Island Flax, Six Seed, and Hazelnut Graham. They have a yummy vegan variety (wheat) for my vegan friends. The crackers are large and sturdy to hold up to toppings with a delicate crunch and wonderful depth of flavor.”

Tipi Produce
Carrots

“I love them and I eat one every single day during their long extended season.  I don't quite know what to eat for snack when they are out of season.”

Stephanie Ricketts - Administration

Sibby's
Vanilla Ice-Cream

“It's creamy, delicious and wonderful tasting. A delightful ice cream treat for any kind of weather!  It's especially good slightly soft- leaving it out in the hot summer sun for 10 minutes will get it to the perfect consistency. The flavors really pop!”

Quince & Apple
Figs and Black Tea Preserve

“Holy moly, do I love this preserve! Both intrigued and intimidated by the unusual combo of black tea and figs, I followed the suggestion on the back to the letter. After work I spread this tasty confiture over slices of Madison Sourdough baguette with some soft goat cheese and salty prosciutto, than grilled the sandwiches slightly on my cast iron pan.  The next day I recreated the entire meal all over again, we liked it so much. I can't wait to try it over ice cream!”

Tomato Mountain
Bloody Mary Mix

“I'm not a Bloody Mary-drinker, but my partner thinks this is the most divine Bloody Mary mix in the entire world! The bright tomato flavors carry through, bringing that late June sunshine. Mix with your favorite hot sauce and WI made Vodka (available at Star Liquor) for a localtastic treat!”

Driftless Organics
Sunflower Oil

I love the sumptuously nutty flavor of this oil from the Driftless Organics, which is located in Soldier's Grove, WI.  In my opinion, it's especially delicious on salads, as part of a dressing or just by itself. Plus sunflower oil supplies a good amount of Vitamin E, which is great for the skin!”

Nessalla
Kombucha

“I don't know how Vanessa and Alla make their brew taste so dang good!  I especially love their Trois Fleurs, Lychee and Blueberry Kombucha flavors, but anything that comes out of their kitchen (located underneath the Weary Traveler, just down the street) is bound to be delicious!  Adding to its irresistibility, Kombucha is also really great for my body, containing probiotics, B Vitamins, C vitamins, anti-oxidants, amino acids and live enzymes and other health benefits.  The Booch Ladies also teach classes in the Community Room every couple months on how to brew up your own batches of kombucha at home.  Though their classes are excellent, somehow their brew always ends up tasting better than mine!”

Tipi Produce
Carrots

“Can you say YUM?  I first tried these carrots in the Mermaid Cafe's carrot soup and am now totally hooked.  Tipi grows a variety of colored carrots, including yellow and purple in addition to the usual orange. Their carrots are sweet and beautiful, making for the perfect addition to any soup, salad, veggie tray or lunch box.”

Slack's
Cranberry/Red Raspberry Jam

“I've been a huge fan of raspberry jam my entire life, but Slack's took my love to the next level when they mixed in cranberries to their already delightful red raspberry jam. This preserve is tart and sweet, perfect on toast, a PB&J, vanilla ice-cream, crackers, or eaten out of the jar with a spoon. PLUS, Wisconsin Rapids, WI is a huge supplier of cranberries around the state, and right around the corner from where I grew up.  :)”

Carr Valley Cheese
Mobay Cheese

“This is my favorite cheese of all time. For those of you who are allergic to cow's milk cheese, this is the ultimate delight! One half of this slightly soft cheese is made from goat milk, the other from sheep's milk- the two layers are separated by a thin line of grape vine ash. Both flavorful and beautiful to behold.  Also great as a gift cheese!”

Uplands
Pleasant Ridge Reserve

“My other favorite cheese of all time! This semi-hard cheese is make from raw cow's milk and is DE-LIC-IOUS. It packs a strong flavor that cheese-lovers will adore. I eat it plain, and my partner loves it on a rosemary Potter's cracker.”

Fat Tomato Designs
Hot Pads

“Julie Case is the maker of the prettiest pot holders in town! I love the bright colors and fun images on all of these durable oven mitts. Since she is always coming out with new designs, I am constantly tempted to add to my kitchen's collection! All of her mitts are very effective at keeping the hot away from the hands, and extra super cool since they are handmade from recycled materials.”

Jeff Bessmer – Flow-of-Goods Dept.

Willy Street Co-op
The Green "C"

“A fresh, zingy green beverage for all who wish to fortify their immune systems - or just enjoy a delicious blend of fine organic fruit juice!”

Sava Parisi – Production Kitchen

El Rey
Lime Flavor Tortilla Chips

“¡Estan muy delicioso!”

All the bulk granolas

“I used to be a hippie; old habits die hard.”

Catherine King - Co-Shop Dept.

Caprimi
Supreme Goat Milk (Non-Homogenized)

“It reminds me of my childhood—I grew up in goat dairy country.”

RP's Pasta
Pumpkin, squash or sweet potato ravioli

“This makes an easy and elegant dinner combined with veggies and/or meat, a sauce, or olive oil with herbs.”

Jesse Durst – Grocery Dept.

Montchevre
Garlic & Herb Chevre Mini Log

“It's smooth and delicious on crackers or fresh bread.”

Nature's Bakery
Raisin Essene

“It's a delicious, classy treat for that special night. This sprouted bread makes you feel all monastic, like the Jewish group that used to bake this ancient bread in the sun.”

Brendon Smith – Communications Dept.

Renaissance Farms
Cilantro Vinaigrette Dressing

“We have this on the salad bar and I use it every time—it's creamy but light and fresh.”

Amit Luthar, Deli

Willy Street Co-op
Make-Your-Own Smoothies

“They are comparable in price to every other smoothie joint only 100 times more legit.”

Willy Street Co-op
Bagel Chips

“Nutritional yeast is addictive.”
