Statement on Mad Cow Disease
Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), also known as Mad Cow Disease, was diagnosed in a Washington state cow on December 23th, 2003. Since then, the federal government has taken steps to limit the possibility of future cases being found in the United States.
Organic Valley, our provider for organic beef, has posted a FAQ about Mad Cow Disease and how the company requires its cows to be raised and processed. Click here to go to their FAQ page and choose "Mad Cow" from the dropdown list.
