Closing Early

Both Willy Street Co-op locations will be closing at 7:30pm on Monday May 28 for Memorial Day. We will resume our regular hours on the following day.

List!

Whenever we can, we fulfill the requests of our owners. Here are some requests and how we fulfilled them in the last few months:

Request: Please bring in [product name here].
During the past months, we have started carrying numerous products based on owner requests: click here to read all of them


Request: List all products on website/allow online ordering
Online ordering of products for local delivery will begin on July 1st, 2007. Almost every product in our store will be listed on our website.

Request: Offer another check-out lane for very busy times
The hardware is currently being installed. This lane will be typically be open only during rush periods and will be only for cash transactions.

Request: Arrows in the parking lot so traffic loops one way.
Done! Cars in the east side of the lot should now loop clockwise.

Request: Have a separate t-shirt design contest for kids.
Next year we will have separate adults’ and kids’ t-shirt design contests. The winner of the kids‘ contest will have get his or her design on the kids’ shirts.

Request: Kids’ shirts with this years’ contest-winning design.
Done! These are available in the housewares area before the registers.

Request: More fresh bakery options.
You can now find our made-from-scratch kringle near the Juice Bar and savory focaccia breads near the Deli.


Request: Post the Deli menu in the store.
As we are running low on a particular item, we’ll update the website. We‘re working on a way to increase the accuracy of posted menus.

Request: Please clean the gray infant seats.
Done! The Maintenance team is doing this more frequently.

Request: More cooking classes with Camillo.
Done! See our Community Room Calendar on pages 5-6.

Request: Please put a recycling bin under the clipboards in the entryway.
Done!

Request: Print a future info article on cloned meat in the Reader.
Done! See our February 2007 issue.

Request: Please keep a plant reference book handy by the plants.
Done!


Request: Open a second store.
We’re one step closer with the results of April’s expenditure vote. Stay tuned!

Request: Put a list of nutritional additives on the Juice Bar menu.

Request: Please make more gluten-free baked goods.
Done!

Request: Please bake shortbread with real butter.
Will be on the shelf in or before June.

Request: Please move the fragrance-free dryer sheets away from items with fragrances.
Done!

Request: Please hold a kombucha-making workshop.

Request: We want to shop online.

Request: Keep fresh cut flowers to one checkout lane for customers with allergies.
Done! Lanes 1 to 3 are now flower-free.

Request: Make smoother hummus.
Done! We have been adding more lemon juice and oil to liquefy the mix more and promote breaking up the chickpeas.

Request: Please get more Willy Street Co-op bumper stickers and window clings.
Done! Get yours at Customer Service.

Request: Have complete fruit and vegetable nutritional information available.
Done! See the binder in the member resource center by the front entrance.

Request: Move glutinous rye flour from above the cornmeal to prevent cross-contamination.
Done!
