Description

A banana split for breakfast? This quick, easy, yummy breakfast takes a dessert classic and lightens it up for the morning. This is so easy, it hardly needs a recipe, and you can easily modify this one to suit what you have in your kitchen. Try cottage cheese in place of Greek yogurt, add nut or seed butter or instead of the preserves, sprinkle with walnuts or almonds, cinnamon, goji berries, or fresh fruit, the list goes on!

Ingredients

1 banana (peeled and split in half lengthwise)
2⁄3 cGreek yogurt (plain)
2 Tfruit preserves (all-fruit, no sugar, see note)
1 tchia seed
1 tground flaxseed
2 Tcoconut flakes

Instructions

Place the banana halves in a shallow bowl. Top with spoonfuls of yogurt, then drizzle with fruit preserves. Sprinkle with ground flaxseed, chia seed, and coconut flakes. Enjoy!

Notes

If you'd like the preserves to have a more sauce-like consistency, just thin it with a bit of hot water.
