The Eastside Farmers’ Market, sponsored by Willy Street Co-op, is set to begin its seventh season on Tuesday, May 13th. The Eastside Farmers’ Market features an artisanal blend of Wisconsin’s finest farm products, including socially and environmentally responsible items. Vendors sell a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, meats, cheeses, fresh-cut flowers, seedlings, pies, crackers, breads, cookies, granola, wool, honey, and beeswax products.

Giveaways

In addition to delicious treats, the Eastside Farmers’ Market will offer market shoppers the opportunity to win wonderful prizes donated by local businesses, including Monkey Bar Gymnasium, Absolutely Art, Audio for the Arts, Mother Fool’s Coffeehouse, L’Etoile, Bali & Soul, and many more. Other market giveaways include an annual flower basket, a fresh market basket, and a beautiful summer bouquet, all compliments of the Eastside Farmers’ Market vendors.

Market Lover Appreciation Days

The market will feature three Market Lover Appreciation Days throughout the season, with each vendor extending special offers to shoppers. These specials allow the vendors to express a “thank you” to their customers for the support they have shown throughout the years. Additionally, the Eastside Farmers’ Market will offer samples the first Tuesday of each month. Vendors will provide bite-size vegetables for market shoppers to try new produce items and snack as they shop.

Buy Fresh Buy Local

This season, the Eastside Farmers’ Market has become a partner of the Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign. As partners of this campaign we are committed to providing local foods and educating our market shoppers about the value, freshness, and taste of local products. The Buy Fresh Buy Local program emphasizes the importance of buying local because not only is it good for family farms and the local economy, it is also good for your health and the health of the environment.

The nitty gritty

The Eastside Farmers’ Market is very accessible to foot traffic, bicycles, and cars. It is located at the new Central Park, 201 South Ingersoll Street, which is between East Washington Avenue and Williamson Street on the Capital City Bike Path. The atmosphere surrounding the market is casual and friendly. Shoppers are able to catch up with what’s new on the farm, as the intimate setting of this market allows for more vendor/consumer interaction.

All those wishing to support local agriculture, indulge in delicious treats, or meet their local artisans and neighbors are encouraged to stop by.
