There will be some changes in January 2011 to our monthly Owner Rewards sale. By making collective purchases with other co-ops through the National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA), we act as a virtual chain, strengthening our buying power and gaining better discounts.

We work with the NCGA and product manufacturers on updating our promotions as needed. We decided it was time for a change in our promotional schedule. Our goal was to put more products on sale during any given month. Having this change start in January 2011 seems like a perfect way to begin the New Year.

Our Owner Rewards sale has traditionally been a month-long program. In late December we will start a new cycle, effectively splitting the Rewards sale into two periods per month. These sales will run from Wednesday through Tuesday and will be two to three weeks long.

At first glance this all may seem slightly confusing and more difficult to follow. I can definitely understand that sentiment. There is an easy way to know how long a product will be on sale. Just look for the dates on the promotion signs.

It is also important to note that our Owner Rewards program is the only promotion that is changing. Our Weekly sales will continue to run Monday through Sunday. Our Everyday Sale Price program will also remain the same.
