Madison and Wisconsin

Community Action on Latin America (CALA)
CALA organizes and sponsors Madison Annual Fair Trade Holiday Festival. CALA is a Madison, Wisconsin - based student and community organization, founded in the early 1970s as a group committed to pursuing issues of social justice and US accountability in Latin American affairs. The CALA of the late 1990s continues to pursue these goals through a program of educational outreach, community development, social responsibility awareness, and solidarity work with groups in both Latin America and the United States. www.calamadison.org

Madison Fair Trade Action Alliance
MadFTAA brings together a diverse array of Wisconsin community organizations including environmental, labor, faith based and social justice perspectives. They work on educating the public, organizations and legislators on issues related to the concept popularly termed globalization. Their mission is to work for fair trade alternatives based on democratic, grassroots participation, social and economic justice, and environmental sustainability. National and International

Fair Trade Federation (FTF)
FTF is an association of fair trade wholesalers, retailers, and producers whose members are committed to providing fair wages and good employment opportunities to economically disadvantaged artisans and farmers worldwide. www.fairtradefederation.com

Transfair
TransFair USA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is the only independent, third-party certifier of Fair Trade practices in the United States. Through regular visits to Fair Trade farmer cooperatives conducted by Fairtrade Labeling Organizations International (FLO), and partnerships with US companies, TransFair verifies that the farmers who produced Fair Trade Certified products were paid a fair price. www.transfairusa.org

Fair Trade Foundation
The Foundation awards a consumer label, the FAIRTRADE Mark, to products which meet internationally recognized standards of fair trade. The Fairtrade Foundation is an United Kingdom Nonprofit that was set up by CAFOD, Christian Aid, New Consumer, Oxfam, Traidcraft and the World Development Movement.
