Coronavirus (COVID-19) Prevention Measures at Your Co-op

All information on here is subject to change. We post regular updates here, as well as on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

  • Store hours are 10am-8pm. We are limiting store capacity to no more than 50 customers. We are also setting aside our first hour of being open for customers who are seniors and/or who may have compromised immune systems. We ask others to shop later if they are able, but will not turn away any customer. During this hour, the store capacity will be reduced to no more than 30 customers.
  • We have limited purchase quantities on some products based vendor and distributor supply.
  • For the safety of staff and other customers, please maintain 6' distance from others. Also, when possible, limit your frequency of shopping; limit the number of people in your group; and use credit/debit cards or check to reduce the number of times cashiers must touch cash. We understand that it isn’t always possible.
  • No reusable bags, mugs, or containers of any kind should be brought to the store. The one exception to this rule is bulk water jugs.
  • The following areas of the store are temporarily closed (although we offer packaged versions of products from these areas as we are able):
    • Meat service counter
    • Seafood service counter at Willy North
    • Deli (including salad and hot bar)
    • Juice & Coffee Bar
    • Bulk aisle
    • Commons/seating area
  • If you are making a trip to the store to get a specific product, you may want to call ahead to confirm the product is in stock. (Note: we are not able to hold products at this time.)
    • Willy North: 608-471-4422
    • Willy West: 608-284-7800
    • Willy East: 608-251-6776

coronavirus prevention measures update 3.23.20

Added 3.26.20:

  • We are bagging up popular bulk items at all three stores so customers can purchase these products. We have also brought in packaged versions of bulk products as we are able. Please call a store to check on availability of a product.
  • We are in the process of adding more delivery and pick-up slots to our online store.

Added 3.23.20:

  • Instead of Wellness Wednesday in April, we are offering a Wellness Any Day virtual coupon. Each Owner account will get 10% off wellness or bodycare products on any one transaction they choose during the month of April. No paper coupon is needed! Just tell your cashier at the beginning of the transaction that you would like to use this virtual coupon.
  • We are closing the Juice & Coffee Bar at all stores (we had only been offering hot drip coffee at the counter). Bottled juices and cold brew will be available in Grab & Go coolers.

Added 3.20.20:

  • Some customers have asked if they are still able to bring in containers for our bulk reverse osmosis water dispensers. Per Public Health Madison & Dane County, yes, as long as they are not containers out of which customers drink directly.
  • For the safety of staff and other customers, please maintain 6' distance from others. When possible, limit your frequency of shopping and/or limit the number of people in your group. Taking these steps will reduce the possibility of exposure, which will help reduce the stress level of staff working in the stores.

Added 3.19.20:

  • We are not able to take new pre-orders for products at this time. Our distributors are limiting the amount of products we can order, and we need to prioritize other work for our staff. We will do our best to fulfill pre-orders already made and one more order of any standing pre-orders.
  • Please do not bring in your reusable bags; we have instructed staff not to touch bags brought in by customers.

Added 3.18.20:

  • To help maintain effective social distancing, as of Thursday, 3.19.20 we are limiting the number of customers in our stores to no more than 50 at a time. When we reach that capacity, any customers who come to the door will be asked to wait.
  • We are also setting aside one hour each day - 10am-11am - for customers who are seniors and/or who may have compromised immune systems. We ask others to shop later if they are able, but will not turn away any customer. During this hour, the store capacity will be reduced to no more than 30 customers.
  • As of Thursday, 3.19.20, we will close the Deli service counters and continue offering Grab & Go products. We will also suspend all made-to-order Juice & Coffee Bar orders except for offering hot drip coffee 10am-2pm; we will make and bottle juices for the shelves.
  • We have updated the list of what products have limited purchase quantities (note: this does not guarantee that these products will be in stock when you shop):
    • Cold/Flu/Immune Herbal Formulas - 4 per item
    • Cold/Flu/Immune Single Herbal Supplements - 4 per item
    • Internal Cold/Flu & Allergy Remedies - 4 per item

  • Whenever possible, please maintain 6' from others—let staff members set down your order and step back before you pick it up, if you pay by check or cash, put it down for the cashier to pick up rather than handing to them, etc. We are working on adding floor markings by the registers as a guide to distancing between you and the customer ahead of you.
  • We are working on adding additional delivery slots for our online shopping service.
  • We ask that customers who bring in their own shopping bags please bag their own groceries.

Added 3.15.20:

  • When we open on Monday, March 16, the following measures will be taken:
