When dealing with supplements, it’s sometimes difficult to know what is a credible source and what isn’t. For any of us who have tried to research herbal or homeopathic treatments, it can be a frustrating and confusing journey.
These are some of the resources that I frequent when trying to choose a treatment path.
- Willy Street Coop has a great resource on our website: www.willystreet.coop/adam. This allows you to search in many different ways: via the condition, the specific herb, treatments (including conventional), and lots of research on health, fitness, and diet.
- Nutritionfacts.org is another great resource, especially if you like visuals. This website is mostly comprised of hundreds of easy-to-understand videos summarizing the latest in nutritional research. You can search by keyword to find videos and blog postings about different topics related to health.
- The book Prescription for Nutritional Healing is a classic that I think many of you have heard of or used.
- In this part of Wisconsin, you’ll also find a plethora of Naturopaths, Homeopaths, acupuncturists, etc. who are amazing resources. Community Pharmacy (communitypharmacy.coop) has a links page with many local businesses and doctors.
What are your favorite resources?
One of the beautiful things about natural remedies is that they acknowledge that everyone is different, and there is no one way to deal with anything. Proceed mindfully, and talk to your doctor.
