Egg-free

Greek Lamb with Orzo

Fragrant, saucy lamb is ladled over orzo with loads of chopped parsley, then topped with generous amounts of feta and kalamata olives in this hearty, Greek (-inspired) meal. This crowd-worthy dish is easy enough to make (just two dirty pots!), but doesn’t taste that way.

Green Garlic and Creamy Avocado Pesto Gnocchi

Green garlic is just young garlic, so the taste is milder and, depending on how young it is, usually isn’t encased in papery skin that needs to be peeled. Simply cut off the roots, and slice like an onion. You can eat the stalks as well, like scallions.

Grilled Eggplant with Basil Vinaigrette

Eggplant doesn't need a lot of preparation to taste great. Specialty varieties like Lilac Bride often lack the astringent flavor and big seeds that Italian Globe eggplant sometimes has.

Grilled Plantains

Once your grill is fired up, these are dead simple to make, and you can use plaintains of varying ripeness with good results. The riper, yellow and black plantains will be sweeter and more creamy, and green ones will yield a milder taste with a starchy, dry texture.

Grilled Skirt Steak with Greek Salsa

Skirt steak is a great steak for grilling - it tastes great and is less expensive. Since it's a lean cut, be sure not to overcook it -- nothing past medium. Look for a thicker piece.

Guacamole with Papalo

Papalo is an herb which is a staple in Mexican cooking, and is often set out on the table at mealtime with bunches of parsley and cilantro. It has a unique, distinctive flavor that is similar to cilantro and goes well in dishes where you would use that herb - but be aware that a little goes a long way.

Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho

This light, cold soup makes a great meal on a hot summer night, and turning on the stove isn't even a requirement!

Heirloon Tomato Cornbread

This cornbread, topped with sliced heirloom tomatoes and sharp cheddar cheese, is decidedly out of the ordinary.

Homemade Spicy Ketchup

If you are not a ketchup person now, this spicy and sweet spread is likely to convert you! A little jar would also make a great gift in the summer.

Individual Pot Roasts with Thyme-Glazed Carrots

Pot roast is typically a weekend dinner, requiring loads of time in the oven. Scented with rosemary and thyme, these delicious, individual-sized ones speed up the process to get dinner on the table in under two hours, most of which is hands-off time on the oven. This makes a great meal on its own, or with some good bread and a salad.

Jeremy's Wine Roast

This dish was created by Jeremy Johnson, Willy West's Meat Manager Extraordinaire. A nice hands-off recipe, this is great served with mashed potatoes or roasted sweet potatoes.

Kale and Black Bean Tacos with Chimichurri

These tacos are so easy to make, they’re sure to become a weeknight staple. The chimichurri adds a bright, tangy, and garlicky flavor that complements the black beans and kale nicely.

Kumquat Poppy Seed Scones

Kumquats make a short appearance in the produce department, so when they're here, be sure to pick some up. There's nothing like their tart and bright flavor!

Lamb Chops with Pistachio Tapenade

Seared for just a few minutes in a hot pan, then spread with a quick, very good tapenade before going in the oven for just 5 minutes, these lamb chops will be on the table in less than a half hour! Throw together a salad, and dinner is served.

Lemon Tahini Sauce

Thin down this sauce down to use as a tangy salad dressing, or leave it thick to spread on sandwiches, or as a dip for vegetables.

Lemon Vinaigrette

This simple vinaigrette is delicious as is, but makes a great base if you'd like to add herbs or garlic.

Mango Lassi

A bit of cardamom takes this simple smoothie from everyday to unexpected.

Maple Bourbon Peach Butter

Use this delicious fruit butter on buttered toast, as a topping for waffles, or as a glaze for meats.

Maple Glazed Sweet Potatoes

The sweet potato has never tasted so good! One of your favorite dishes re-imagined with more color and flavor than ever before.

Maple Roasted Root Vegetables

Winter root vegetables turn sweet and packed with flavor when roasted, and when lightly coated in maple syrup, they turn into a stand-out side dish.

Melon with Chile-Lime Syrup

Honeydew or cantaloupe would both be great in this dessert, sweet and cool with a bit of unexpected heat.

Mexican-Style Peach Salad

This is a fun summery fruit salad to play around with. Make it as written, or substitute the peaches for mangoes or another stone fruit.

Minty Stone Fruit Salad

This would be delicious with any combination of summery stone fruit - experiment! Use what looks good, and you'll have a fantastic salad.

Miso Pasta Salad

Miso dressing is an unexpected but enjoyable choice for pasta salad, giving it a nice umami punch!

Moroccan Carrot and Chickpea Salad

This salad is already quite hearty, with dried fruit, toasted nuts, and lots of fragrant fresh mint, but could be made even more substantial with the addition of bulgur or couscous.

Moroccan Grilled Eggplant

I enjoy this recipe because it can be changed so many ways by adding different herbs and spices and also because it is just as delicious without adding meat.
