Crispy Baked Chicken Wings

Great for feeding a crowd, these easy wings are baked, so there's no need to break out the deep fryer.

  • 2 T butter
  • 1/2 t cayenne
  • 1/2 t black pepper
  • 1/2 t kosher salt
  • 1/2 c hot pepper sauce
  • 5 lb chicken wings
  • 2 T sunflower oil

Crispy Baked Chicken Wings Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400˚F. Set a wire rack inside each of 2 large rimmed baking sheets. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, cayenne, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Whisk in the hot sauce, and keep warm.
  3. Combine the wings, sunflower oil, remaining tablespoon salt and remaining 1/2 teaspoon of pepper in a large bowl. Toss to coat. Spread the wings out in a single layer on the prepared wire racks. Bake until cooked through and skin is crispy, about 45-50 minutes.
  4. Toss the wings in Buffalo sauce, and serve immediately.
