Red Fruit Salad

    • coriander seeds (whole)
    • 2 1⁄2 T
    • sugar
    • 1⁄2 t
    • lemon zest
    • 1⁄2 t
    • lemon juice

Description

This fruit salad is great immediately after assembling, but if you have a day to let the flavors develop in the refrigerator, it's even better!

Instructions

Roughly chop most of the cherries in half, leaving the remaining cherries whole. Place in a large bowl and gently toss with the strawberries. 

In a hot dry skillet, toast the coriander seeds until fragrant. FInely grind them with a mortar and pestle. A tablespoon at a time, mix the sugar into the coriander, then mix in the lemon zest. Sprinkle the coriander and sugar mixture over the fruit, and toss gently with the lemon juice. Let rest for 10 minutes, then enjoy.
