Tomato Bread

    • clasen’s sourdough (loaf, sliced into 4 big slabs)

    • tomatoes
    • 2 T
    • olive oil
    • 1 clv
    • garlic (minced)
    • 1 T
    • thyme
    • salt (to taste)
    • pepper (to taste)

Hunks of warmed sourdough topped with gooey, garlicky oven roasted or grilled tomatoes with olive oil and herbs makes the perfect accompaniment to any meal.


Cut tomatoes into 8 wedges and mix with oil, thyme, and garlic. Either roast tomatoes in the oven or on the grill at approx. 300ºF for one hour or until entire mixture softens and combines. During last five minutes add bread slabs to oven then remove. Slather slabs with tomato and oil mixture. Let mixture seep into bread. Serve.
