This new bar from Equal Exchange marks the beginning of a new partnership with small farmers in West Africa where roughly 70% of the world’s cocoa is grown, yet issues of child labor still remain. Previously, Equal Exchange’s work in creating an alternative supply chain to the exploitation of workers in the conventional chocolate industry was limited to Latin American sources. Now, in partnership with the Scoops Procab and Scoops IKPA cooperatives in Togo, Africa, comes this chocolate bar with a whopping 92% cacao content.
