- 12 oz canned chunk light tuna, drained
- 2 green onions, minced
- 2 T celery, minced
- 2 T mayonnaise, or more to taste
- 1 T lemon juice
- 1 T minced parsley
- 1/8 t salt
- ds hot sauce
- freshly ground pepper to taste
- 1/2 lb tomatoes, sliced
- 3/4 c shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 whole wheat english muffins, split and toasted
Classic Tuna Melt Directions
- Preheat broiler. Combine tuna, green onions, celery, mayonnaise, lemon juice, parsley, salt, hot sauce and pepper in a medium bowl. Divide the tuna mixture evenly between each muffin half; top with tomato slices and cheese. Place muffins on a baking sheet and broil until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes.
