Interested in helping to guide the future of your Co-op? Run for a seat on the Board of Directors! Candidate applications are due Thursday, August 27 at 11:59pm, and the election will be in October.
Willy Street Co-op is a cornerstone of our vibrant community, and the Board of Directors plays a critical role in ensuring the continued success and health of the Co-op. The Co-op Board of Directors is made up of nine members who are democratically elected by Owners. All Board members, including any elected employees, represent the Ownership as a whole rather than any specific group or subset of Owners. The board represents all Owners in setting the standards for the Co-op’s performance. We are engaged primarily in developing the vision and long-term viability of the Co-op. We use the Policy Governance Model to oversee the Co-op, which is a system that emphasizes values, vision, and the empowerment and accountability of both the staff and the Board.
Attending a Board Information Session OR a Board meeting is required for candidates (current Board members are exempt from this requirement).
