Steve Pincus and Beth Kazmar own and run Tipi Produce, near Evansville in Rock Co, about 25 miles south of Madison. Steve started farming in 1976, in the hills and valleys of the Driftless region. Beth joined up in 1999, after the birth of their daughter. They started selling to the Co-op sometime around 1980, making a weekly delivery early Saturday mornings, before selling at the Dane County farmers market. Over the years, they have sold a very wide range of vegetables to the Co-op; their current big items are carrots and other root crops, watermelons, peppers, cabbage, kales, and collards. They have a year-round business—fresh from their fields May through Thanksgiving, then winter storage crops into early spring. Find out more about them at tipiproduce.com.
