Organic farmers and businesses still have not received their 2025 Organic Certification Cost Share reimbursements. Many farms (including those who supply the Co-op) rely on these funds to cover the rising costs of organic certifications. Congress has already authorized the funds, but the delay in releasing them has forced farmers to absorb these costs at a time when margins are already tight. The National Organic Coalition - NOC has created customizable letters individuals can share with USDA leadership and Members of Congress, urging USDA to release these funds immediately. Find the letters here: www.nationalorganiccoalition.org/blog/2025/12/12/usda-cost-share-delays-are-hurting-organic-farms....

Through February, Haleigh Carter's artwork will be featured in Willy North's Commons 🎨
Here is a statement from Haleigh:
I started as an artist. As life transitioned, I changed, evolved, and grew—and I was still an artist. My family, friends, and intimate relationships shaped how I expressed myself, and those pivotal connections changed how I viewed myself. During these times, I was an artist, a sister, a daughter, a granddaughter, a niece, a friend, a
lover. Eventually, I transitioned into someone who could understand the depths of others without fully knowing or seeing myself. I poured into others without taking myself along for the ride. I poured and poured into vessels, leaving myself empty—but I was still an artist.
As time passed, love and attention returned to me. With healing, time, and patience, I was still an artist—a whole person who loved themself, a professional who uses their gifts to give back to others. As much as I tried to fight against who I am, who I was, and who I have the power to become, I always returned to one place—the only place my body feels safe: being an artist.
I live and paint alongside a flow of emotions. My work is guided by patience and
evolves through addition, subtraction, covering, and layering. Each piece comes
alive through metamorphosis, reflective of the human experience.
